TOOK ME / THIS WORLD

- CD single -

One November night, after a relaxing evening with my sitar (I don't play it often), a very famous guitar player who's not with us anymore came to me and gave me two songs. The dream wasn't very clear, but when I woke up in the middle of the night I could still still remember both songs. I went straight to my studio to record them immediatly, using drum tracks Steve had recorded for some other project. I worked some more the next day, but I basically left the songs the way they were.
The result is something unusual for my repertoire, but I've always been a huge Beatle fan.

Anyway, thank you, George.

And thank you, my son as well.

TOOK ME

It took me thousand years To get a cool and clean guitar

It took me all those years To get a cool and clean guitar

That guitar Has cost me half a leg and all my car

I later found my fingers

It's what has brought my sound so far

It took me even longer To get a place where I could sleep

It took me so much longer To build a place where I could sleep

Now that I Just put the very final screw in time

I found my sleeping dream

Was just a crack inside my deep

Oh, should we

Learn a little bit from everything?

That could save a headache

Or maybe just make me sing.

*

That guitar Has cost me half a leg and all my car

I later found my fingers

It's what has led my sound so far

It took me all those years To learn we'll all be dead and gone

It took me all those years To learn we'll all be dead and gone

I'm aware It hasn't been a party to struggle there

But after all I've met you,

So I can't say I've been alone.

Oh, my love,

It took me years

But I've got it done (repeat)

THIS WORLD

Here I stand

With a guitar in my hand

Singing songs from a different age.

This world is not my world anymore:

This world is yours.

This word is not my world anymore

This world is yours.

Here I stand

With a paper in my hand

Telling stories from an erlier age.

This world is not my world anymore:

This world is yours.

This word is not my world anymore

Please treat it kind, my son

This word is not my world anymore

This world is yours.
